Fjord Solutions has developed and patented Bio-Collector. It is a unique product which collects all sludge and remaining fish feed, preventing it from polluting the sea.
This ensures a more environment friendly production. The Bio-Collector functions as a «lamelle»-system, either integrated into the Second Barrier or independently connected to the bottom ring. The patterns of the Bio-Collector are sewed together in a way that allows water flowing through it, but at the same time holds the sludge inside. The sludge is later gathered into the pump at the bottom of the pen and sent through the pipes to the fleet station. There it will be filtered and turned into dry powder which can be used for production of bio-gas, bio-diesel and fertilizer.
Our first Bio-Collector has been delivered to Leroy Seafood Group in January 2021 and has been used throughout one production cycle. The product is patented and has sludge collecting effect of up to15% of dry sediments.
