Aqualock is our newly developed unique lock-and-release mechanism which allows bottom ring staying in immersed position during all operations.
Aqualock is connected between the bottom ring and the main net with ropes that go all the way up to the cage. The product is HSE-friendly, at the same time as maintenance costs are significantly reduced. Aqualock means that you avoid using divers and crane, and can perform similar work from the sea surface (loosen and tighten) on the net.
The product was launched during AquaNor 2021 in Trondheim. The video below shows how to release the net using Aqualock. The product received patent in September 2022.
Aqualock can also be used in Lift-up for dead fish in order to be able to keep the lift-up in place in the net. This video shows test in Hitra at a MOWI facility. The spigot is attached to the bottom of the net, while the body is attached in the lift-up.
Another area for the use of aqualock is between the tip of the net and the center weight.
The Aqualock is mounted between the center weight and the net allowing it to release the net without removing the center weight.
